On November 24, the annual Guangzhou Auto Show officially closed. As a major automotive event at the end of the year, it is undoubtedly a great opportunity for automakers to "show off their muscles and display their strength." At this auto show, FAW Hongqi made a high-profile appearance with multiple star models, fully demonstrating the achievements and elegance of the brand's high-quality development with a strong product lineup. On the media day, the Hongqi mid-to-large luxury pure electric SUV Tiangong 08, built on the Tiangong pure electric platform and the Jiuzhang intelligent platform, also officially opened for reservations.
In addition to its spacious interior, the Tiangong 08's Lingxi cockpit is also particularly intelligent, achieving perfection in human-machine interaction. It is equipped with an AI voice large model with 13 billion cloud-based massive parameters for cognition, supporting image-text generation, dialect dialogue, and more, with millisecond-level response speed and low-decibel response sensitivity, making communication completely effortless.
The vehicle is equipped with 21 speakers and a 2200W amplifier. For this, Hongqi also established a joint laboratory with the Central National Orchestra for joint tuning, allowing users to enjoy concert-hall-level audio, carrying national music with a national car, with intelligent audio-visual accompaniment all the way.
In terms of body colors, Hongqi also put in great effort. The Tiangong 08 not only showcases the technological charm of the modern automotive industry, but also interprets the essence of Eastern aesthetics. The color concept is derived from "mountains, rivers, lakes, and seas, the sun, moon, and stars." The new car offers six colors for users to choose from: Distant Mountain Purple, Cloud Stream White, Still Sea Blue, Crescent Gray, Galaxy Silver, and Polar Night Black, meeting the personalized needs of different users.
At the recent 2024 China FAW Hongqi Brand New Energy Night, Qiu Xiandong, Chairman and Party Secretary of China FAW Group Co., Ltd., said: "Safety is the primary attribute of an automobile, the fundamental gene of luxury automobile brands, and an important foundation for the high-quality development of intelligent connected new energy vehicles." As the first domestic model to participate in the "Everest" new energy vehicle safety program released by CATARC, the Tiangong 08 successfully challenged the "Devil's Four-Ring" passive safety test, which far exceeds national standards, as well as a series of tests in three-electric safety, fully interpreting that there is a safety standard called the "Hongqi Standard."
In terms of passive safety, the Tiangong 08 adopts a "9H4M" cage-type body structure, with high-strength steel accounting for as much as 74% of the entire vehicle, and a maximum yield strength of 2000 MPa in key areas, making the vehicle impregnable and ensuring worry-free travel for users.
In the field of new energy vehicles, battery safety is the top priority. The Tiangong 08 adopts a honeycomb energy-absorbing structure and uses high-strength steel as the underbody protective plate, capable of withstanding the impact of a 20-ton truck. The battery cells also use nanoscale aerospace materials, which can isolate 10 kV voltage and 1,000-degree high temperatures, and the waterproof performance reaches IPX8 level. After testing, it does not fail after being soaked in water for 60 hours and does not spontaneously ignite at high temperatures, withstanding extreme heat and wind and rain.
Entering the era of intelligence, the Tiangong 08 integrates the concept of technologically intelligent vehicle manufacturing, providing users with a top-level intelligent driving solution, namely the Hongqi Sinan high-level intelligent driving system.
As a mass-produced model with the industry's first 10V high-level visual intelligent driving solution, it pioneers a trinocular inertial navigation stereo vision system. This solution adds a telephoto monocular camera on the basis of bionic binocular vision. While the bionic binocular vision can accurately lock onto a target's volume and spatial position, the telephoto monocular camera cooperates to identify targets 300 meters away, ensuring safety in high-speed scenarios. Moreover, through OTA upgrades and iterations later, the Tiangong 08 will have more learning capabilities to cope with different road conditions.
It is worth mentioning that the Tiangong 08 has highway and urban NOA, with coverage in 100% of cities nationwide, and no more than 2 takeovers per 100 kilometers. It is usable nationwide and becomes easier to drive the more you drive it.
It is currently understood that the Tiangong 08 will officially go on sale in mid-December, and the other two members of the Tiangong family, a B-class luxury pure electric sedan and a B-class luxury pure electric SUV, will also be launched successively in 2025.
