On July 9, FAW-Volkswagen Jetta officially released the interior official images of its mid-size SUV, the Jetta VS8. The new car will adopt a powertrain combination of a 1.4T engine + 6AT transmission and has completed filing with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

In terms of the interior, judging from the released interior official images, the new car's interior adopts a completely new design language, and the dark, light, dark color scheme helps create a sense of extended space. The new car is equipped with a three-spoke multi-function steering wheel and a floating central control screen, an wraparound ambient light that fits current trends, a simple gearshift area design, a wireless phone charging panel, and seats using diamond-pattern perforated craftsmanship for a comfortable seating experience.

In terms of power, the new car will be equipped with a 1.4T engine with a maximum power of 110kW, with power tuning consistent with the current VS7, and the transmission will be matched with a 6-speed automatic manual transmission.
Dada Review: The Jetta brand inherits Volkswagen's advantages in handling and stability. The Jetta VS series has performed excellently in the market. The Jetta VS5 sold a total of 63,677 units in 2024, while the VS7's sales are somewhat lower than the VS5's. Jetta's VS series is a relatively cost-effective lineup among SUVs, but the interior design and materials are average, and acceleration is weak above 120 km/h. The Jetta VS8's exterior design is younger and more stylish, and after launch it will become the brand's flagship SUV. Judging from the released interior official images, the Jetta VS8's interior design is younger and more fashionable, better aligned with current market demand, and significantly improved compared with the VS series currently on sale. However, the Jetta brand's level of intelligence will not be very high, and compared with domestic brands at the same price, there is still a lot of room for improvement.
