On March 4, IM officially released a teaser image of a new car. Judging from the released teaser image, the IM LS8 will be officially unveiled this month (March 2026), and the official calls it "the best-driving 8 Series flagship." The new car will be offered in 5-seat and 6-seat versions, equipped with extended-range power, and equipped with lidar.

In terms of appearance, the IM LS8 adopts the family's latest design language. The through-type light band at the front enhances the sense of technology, the high and low beam groups are arranged in a "7" shape, and the lidar at the top of the windshield indicates that the car has good intelligent driving capability. The side of the new car adopts a floating roof, hidden door handles, and multi-spoke wheels, giving it a "Range Rover" flavor at a glance. The rear of the new car uses a through-type light group. The body's length, width, and height are 5085/2000/1817(1807)mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 3060mm.

In terms of power, the new car is equipped with the Stellar super extended-range system, using a 1.5T engine as the range extender. The maximum power of the range extender is 114kW, and the maximum power of the drive motor is 230kW. The new car will be equipped with a lithium iron phosphate battery provided by SAIC Times. The battery pack capacity is available in two types: 52.1kWh and 65.9kWh. The maximum pure electric range is 335km, and the comprehensive range exceeds 1000km.

Dada Review: The IM LS8 is positioned as a mid-to-large extended-range SUV. Its core technologies include the Lizard digital chassis, steer-by-wire, rear-wheel steering, lidar, and large-battery extended range. The new car's turning diameter is only 10.8 meters. With steer-by-wire without a mechanical connection, it can make a U-turn with half a turn. The four-wheel-drive version distributes power in milliseconds, making driving in rain, snow, and rough roads worry-free. The new car's price is roughly in the 250,000-300,000 range, lower than models in the same class, and its turning diameter is the smallest in the same class. The official claim of "the best-driving 8 Series flagship" is well deserved.
