Recently, Nissan officially released the official images of the 2026 Nissan Rogue (known in China as the Dongfeng Nissan X-Trail) overseas. While retaining the S, SV, Dark Armor, SL, Rock Creek, and Platinum trims, the new model adds a Dark Armor trim, which adds a 360-degree surround-view camera, panoramic sunroof, heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel compared with the SV trim.

In terms of exterior design, the 2026 Nissan Rogue continues the design language of the current model on sale, with adjustments to some details. The pattern inside the grille has been upgraded, and both the roof rails and side mirror caps are finished in black, enhancing the sporty feel.

In terms of powertrain, the 2026 Nissan Rogue is equipped across the lineup with a 1.5T three-cylinder engine producing a maximum of 201 horsepower, and four-wheel-drive versions remain available.
Xiao Tang's Take: In 2002, the first-generation Nissan X-Trail entered the Chinese market as an import and achieved sales of nearly 3,000 units that year. In 2008, the second-generation Nissan X-Trail went into production at Dongfeng Nissan, offering 2.0L and 2.5L engines of different displacements, with a timely all-wheel-drive system as standard across the lineup. The third-generation Nissan X-Trail was launched in 2014. This generation introduced the XTRONIC CVT transmission and a full-time four-wheel-drive system, and sales rose rapidly thanks to its all-around "urban + off-road" characteristics. From 2015 to 2018, the Nissan X-Trail won the Japanese-brand SUV sales championship multiple times. By March 2019, cumulative sales of the X-Trail in the Chinese market had reached 1 million units. In 2021, the fourth-generation X-Trail, equipped with a 1.5T three-cylinder engine, was launched in China. Although the fourth-generation X-Trail was comprehensively upgraded in exterior, interior, and powertrain, its three-cylinder engine was not accepted by Chinese consumers, with some owners reporting issues such as idle vibration and abnormal noise during cold starts. By this time, domestic brands had risen, and sales of the fourth-generation X-Trail in China continued to decline. Dongfeng Nissan had to reinstate the third-generation X-Trail and launch a lower-priced X-Trail Honor version, using a 2.0L naturally aspirated engine + CVT transmission combination to recover the declining sales. The overseas 2026 Nissan Rogue is equipped across the lineup with a 1.5T three-cylinder engine, with an overseas starting price of 28,790 US dollars (about 207,000 yuan). Even if an X-Trail with this configuration and this price entered the Chinese market, its prospects would be difficult to predict.
