On May 8, the Haval Big Dog PLUS Hi4 200km long-range Galaxy Edition was officially launched. The changes to the new vehicle are mainly in battery capacity and pure electric range, while the exterior and interior continue the existing design, and the rear badge has been changed from "HAVAL" to "GWM".

The Haval Big Dog PLUS long-range version has body dimensions of 4,705 mm in length, 1,908 mm in width, and 1,780 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,810 mm, an approach angle of 24°, a departure angle of 30°, and a minimum ground clearance of 200 mm. The front face continues the round light cluster design and is paired with a larger semi-closed grille, with the "HAVAL" lettering emblem embedded in the center.

In terms of interior, the Haval Big Dog PLUS long-range version is equipped with a 12.3-inch LCD instrument panel and a 14.6-inch floating central control screen. A row of physical buttons is retained below the central control screen, and the gear shift mechanism has been changed to a column shifter design. The vehicle system uses Coffee OS 3 and supports Sentry Mode. In terms of driving assistance, the vehicle is equipped with an L2-level system and provides 360° panoramic imaging, with hardware consisting of 4 surround-view cameras and 12 ultrasonic radars.

The powertrain adopts a plug-in hybrid system composed of a 1.5T engine and front and rear axle dual motors, matched with a 2-speed DHT hybrid dedicated transmission. Among them, the 1.5T engine has a maximum power of 115 kW and a maximum torque of 243 N·m. The CLTC pure electric range is 200 kilometers, and the WLTC combined range exceeds 1,000 kilometers. The vehicle is also equipped with a 6kW external discharge function and offers an optional rear axle differential lock.

Commentary: The Haval Big Dog PLUS long-range version is not an all-new generation model, but a newly added configuration version in the 2026 Haval Big Dog PLUS hybrid lineup. Compared with the versions on sale with pure electric ranges of 105 kilometers (battery capacity 18.74 kWh) and 150 kilometers (27.54 kWh), the new vehicle's battery capacity has been increased to 33.7 kWh, and the CLTC pure electric range reaches 200 kilometers. Its guide price is 165,800 yuan, lower than the 183,800 yuan of the current hybrid top trim. It should be noted that the name "Haval Big Dog PLUS" was adopted in August 2025 to distinguish it from the current Big Dog: the former is positioned toward family users' broad off-road scenarios, while the latter still focuses on a youthful trend direction. Overall, the new vehicle has made a clear combined adjustment in range and price.
