On May 11, the BYD 2026 Seagull was officially launched, offering four configuration models: the 305 km Vitality Edition, 305 km Freedom Edition, 405 km Comfort Edition, and 405 km Flying Edition. Among them, the 305 km Freedom Edition and 405 km Flying Edition support optional LiDAR.

In terms of exterior, the 2026 Seagull basically continues the overall silhouette of the models on sale, with the front windshield wiper changed from a single wiper to dual wipers. The body dimensions are 3780 mm long, 1715 mm wide, and 1540 mm high, with a wheelbase of 2500 mm. The vehicle is equipped with 16-inch star-ray dynamic wheels and features updated taillights and logo light designs.

In terms of interior, the 2026 Seagull is equipped with the DiLink 150 system, featuring a 12.8-inch central control screen that supports 3D vehicle control and deeply customized navigation. The front seats have been changed from the old one-piece sport seats to split-type seats, with headrests supporting three-level adjustment. A center console armrest box with a flip-top design has been added to the tunnel area. In terms of equipment, the vehicle offers full high-definition panoramic camera, smartphone NFC car key, VTOL mobile power station, electrically heated exterior mirrors, intelligent voice interaction, as well as automatic air conditioning, four-way steering wheel adjustment, six-way power driver's seat adjustment, 50W smartphone wireless charging, and four-level adjustable dual wipers.

The powertrain across the entire lineup comes standard with an electric motor with a maximum power of 55 kW and a maximum torque of 135 N·m. The battery pack is available in two capacities, 30.08 kWh and 38.88 kWh, corresponding to range figures of 305 km and 405 km respectively.

The 305 km Freedom Edition and 405 km Flying Edition of the 2026 Seagull support the optional "God's Eye B" assisted driving LiDAR Edition (DiPilot 300). With this option, the vehicle can achieve urban navigation assistance functions, including traffic light recognition with real-time countdown, all-scenario detouring and yielding, and roundabout driving. A smart driving paddle has been added to the steering wheel area for one-touch activation or deactivation of assisted driving. In addition, the vehicle is equipped with DMS driver monitoring assistance, front and rear collision alerts, automatic emergency braking, a dashcam, and panoramic camera.

Xiao Tang's view: The 2026 Seagull has undergone multiple adjustments based on the original model. Power and range remain unchanged, still offering 305 km and 405 km versions. The main changes are concentrated in comfort and intelligence: it has been equipped with four-level adjustable dual wipers, a central armrest box with a cover, automatic air conditioning, and more. The biggest change is that the two mid-to-high trim versions can be optioned with LiDAR and urban navigation assistance functions. Overall, the improvements in intelligence and comfort make up for some previous shortcomings, while providing more choices in practicality and driving assistance.
