On August 21, SAIC Volkswagen officially launched the ID.ERA 5S, offering five models: Pure, Neo, Pro, Pro Pilot, and Max.

The ID.ERA 5S adopts Volkswagen's family design with a fastback profile, featuring semi-hidden door handles, large-size wheels, and five body colors. Its length, width, and height are 4836mm, 1880mm, and 1505mm respectively, with a wheelbase of 2766mm.

The interior features a wraparound cockpit layout, equipped with an 8.8-inch LCD instrument cluster and a 15.6-inch 2.5K central control screen, supporting an AI voice assistant and multi-brand smartphone connectivity.

The Pro Pilot and Max versions are equipped with the "Xingyun Zhixing" advanced driver assistance system, supporting urban NOA, highway NOA, and intelligent parking assistance.

The ID.ERA 5S is powered by a plug-in hybrid system consisting of a 1.5L hybrid-dedicated engine and a front-mounted single motor, with the engine producing a maximum power of 80kW and the motor a peak power of 130kW. It is equipped with a 19.1kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, offering a CLTC pure electric range of 160 kilometers. The fuel tank capacity is 55L, with a CLTC fuel consumption of 2.82L/100km under depleted battery conditions and a combined range exceeding 2,000 kilometers. It supports fast charging, going from 30% to 80% in approximately 15 minutes, and features a 3.5kW external discharge function.

The ID.ERA 5S maintains consistent core powertrain and range across all variants. The Pure version comes with a complete set of basic practical features, essentially meeting daily commuting needs; the Neo version adds a 540° panoramic camera system, Sentry Mode + dashcam, and L2-level driver assistance, offering a rich set of practical features; starting from the Pro version, a 50W wireless phone charger, panoramic sunroof, and 255-color ambient lighting are added; the Pro and Max versions further feature comfort configurations such as heated steering wheel, front seat ventilation/massage, and heated seats for all occupants; the Pro Pilot and Max versions are equipped with advanced intelligent driving. The ID.ERA 5S's configuration strategy forms a clear progression from basic commuting, family practicality, and comfort upgrade to intelligent driving.
