On October 23, the Dongfeng Aeolus L8+ was officially launched, with a limited-time trade-in price of 129,900 yuan–159,900 yuan. Positioned as a "dual flagship of intelligent driving and comfort," the new car completed a series of extreme scenario challenges under CCTV live broadcast cameras, including consecutive hairpin bends, cliffside parking, livestock and cattle blocking the road, washboard roads, and truck passing, and passed the "Intelligent Driving Everest 108 Turns" with a zero-takeover record throughout. Dongfeng stated that the Aeolus L8+ is the world's first to feature the Tianyuan Intelligent Driving T800, and is also equipped with a 4-speed Mach hybrid and class-leading comfort features, aiming to bring high-level intelligent driving and flagship comfort into the 150,000-yuan-class family SUV market.

700TOPS computing power brought downmarket, 150,000-yuan-class intelligent driving hardware fully loaded
At the hardware level, the Aeolus L8+ is equipped with the NVIDIA Thor-U 700TOPS flagship chip, which the official claims makes it the only intelligent driving SUV under 150,000 yuan with 700TOPS computing power. This computing power reaches 3.5 times the mainstream level in the same class, reserving ample redundancy for subsequent software iterations, with the goal of keeping intelligent driving capabilities from becoming outdated within 5 years.
At the algorithm level, the Tianyuan Intelligent Driving T800 integrates the Momenta R7 world model. According to the official introduction, this model is a leading algorithm solution in the current intelligent driving field, with capabilities comparable to Huawei Qian ADS Max. Previously, the Momenta R7 world model mainly appeared on mid-to-high-end models such as the Volkswagen ID.ERA9X, Mercedes-Benz GLC, and Cadillac XT5 PHEV, with some products still requiring subsequent models or OTA updates; the Aeolus L8+ instead emphasizes "no OTA needed, available on delivery."

On this basis, the Aeolus L8+ relies on 700TOPS computing power to connect the four major domains of intelligent driving, chassis, powertrain, and smart cabin, launching the industry's first intelligent driving whole-vehicle calibration. The new car performs coordinated optimization for experiences such as acceleration jerk, deceleration linearity, and steering precision, focusing on alleviating motion sickness in intelligent driving scenarios.
Parking-space-to-parking-space, all-domain mapless NOA usable even in rural areas
At the functional level, the Aeolus L8+ supports parking-space-to-parking-space intelligent driving: the vehicle can activate intelligent driving with one tap from the starting parking space, autonomously enter and exit parking lots, and automatically park in a space at the destination, with zero takeover throughout. In terms of parking, the new car supports remote parking, autonomous line-marking parking, and cross-floor memory parking of up to 3 kilometers and up to 7 floors; it can handle ultra-narrow spaces, dead-end spaces, and unmarked parking spaces, and can also autonomously mark lines for parking when there are no marked spaces.
More notably, the Aeolus L8+ supports all-domain mapless NOA, does not rely on high-precision maps, covers highways and urban roads, and can achieve full-scenario intelligent driving in remote rural areas, the wilderness, and other scenarios, which the official calls the unique "rural NOA." In long-distance travel scenarios, this capability also strengthens the new car's product label of "safer on long trips." In terms of assurance, the Aeolus L8+ provides all-domain worry-free service guarantee for urban NOA, intelligent parking, and highway NOA.
4-speed Mach hybrid, comprehensive range exceeding 1,500 km
In terms of power and range, the Aeolus L8+ is equipped with a 4-speed Mach hybrid system, with engine thermal efficiency reaching 45.18%, balancing power output and fuel consumption. The new car is equipped with a 30.3 kWh large-capacity battery, with CLTC pure electric range of 220 km and CLTC comprehensive range exceeding 1,500 km. The official example of Chengdu to Lhasa emphasizes that no midway recharging or refueling is needed, further reinforcing its long-distance travel attributes.

Comfort cabin upgraded again, safety backup simultaneously strengthened
In terms of comfort features, the Aeolus L8+ is equipped with the "five luxury-car items": cloud-soft large sofas, a rear roof-mounted entertainment screen, a rear heating and cooling box, aviation-style small tables, and a 19-speaker WANOS panoramic sound audio system. At the same time, the new car also offers a heated capacitive steering wheel, driver and front passenger seat memory/welcome/ventilation, front and rear seat heating, and other functions, continuing to raise the 150,000-yuan-class comfort standard.

In terms of cabin health, the Aeolus L8+ is equipped with a "zero formaldehyde" healthy cabin certified by the China Automotive Technology and Research Center, and features Dongfeng's latest Tianyuan OS 2.0, improving family users' daily vehicle experience from physical feel to interaction.
At the safety level, the Aeolus L8+'s Mach battery adopts 1200MPa military-vehicle-grade armor protection, with safety standards higher than the new national standard, and after rigorous testing achieves no fire, no leakage, and no explosion. At the same time, Dongfeng Aeolus also launched a three-electric spontaneous combustion backup guarantee that is "not limited to the first owner and not limited by mileage."
From 700TOPS computing power and the Momenta R7 world model, to parking-space-to-parking-space intelligent driving and rural NOA, and further to the 4-speed Mach hybrid, 1,500 km-class comprehensive range, and class-leading comfort features, the Aeolus L8+ attempts to break the convention that "high-level intelligent driving equals high price," bringing top-tier intelligent driving, a comfortable cabin, long-range hybrid, and hardcore safety to mainstream family users all at once. With the launch of the new car, competition in intelligent driving and comfort in the 150,000-yuan-class SUV market may further heat up.
